Cory Huffine
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, working at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. I have had the privilege to work with and learn from some wonderful nurse practitioners from the state of Idaho. I am honored to serve as President-Elect for Nurse Practitioners of Idaho and look forward to my term as President.
Boise has been my home base for many years as I am a graduate of both Boise High School and Boise State University. My wife, Tiffany Huffine, also an NP, and I have been fortunate to return to Boise after our graduate studies took us to Maine. We took a detour to rural Oregon for two years for me to serve as a National Health Service Corps Scholar. Once that commitment was completed in 2005, we chose to return to Idaho to live and practice as NPs.
Idaho is a wonderful place to be an NP and I have been impressed with the level of professionalism from all of the NP colleagues I have met over the years. NPs in Idaho have had the benefit of an excellent Nurse Practice Act that is a result of very hard work from some very bright, hardworking, and forward-thinking NPs. I intend to continue with efforts to promote the NP profession in Idaho and maintain an active voice within our communities and with our lawmakers so that our NPs may continue to give the quality, evidence-based care they are trained to provide.
