Heather Healy
From 2000 â 2001 â I taught Baccalaureate students at Arizona State University and built curriculum courses on communication skills, physical assessment and community development.
From 2003 â 2006 â I was the Coordinator of the ANCC Continuing Education Approval process for the Arizona Nurses Association, under the director of Marla Weston. Managing the approval and provider application process, evaluated continuing education programs throughout the state of Arizona and across the country and provided personal assistance and consultation to individuals and institutions interested in applying for continuing education units.
During that same time I was the grant writer for the Arizona Nurses Association facilitating the Nursing Work Environment Grant â focusing on the forces of magnetism and the work of Linda Aiken.
From 2004 â 2006 â I served as research assistant to Dr. Julie Fleury and helped create the DNS program at Arizona State University
Over the past 15 years Heather Healy worked as a nurse in critical care, with a cardiology focus. In 2006 graduated with my APRN degree in family practice and have worked in family practice, occupational medicine, womenâs health and pulmonary at Saint Alphonsus Medical Group. During that time I have held executive leadership positions developing programs to increase utilization of nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists in the local medical group and hospital system.
In May of 2010 I moved to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center to be their Director of Professional Practice and Research. In this role I work with hospital NPs in the Pain, Palliative, Glycemic and Wound programs. I also serve as the Magnet program director and facilitate professional development for all nurses from the medical group to the hospital APRNs.
